Board of Directors

Slim Chiboub, Chairman of the Board
 
A Tunisian businessman and largest shareholder of Voyageur, Mr Chiboub has extensive experience in MENA-based investments and brings the local knowledge and access to capital for the company. He has many business and social interests in Tunisia, North Africa and Europe. He is a  director of the FIFA and the current president of the Tunisian National Olympic Committee.
 
Darren Stevenson, CEO Director and Founder
 
Mr. Stevenson is a senior oil and gas executive with experience in technology, corporate turnarounds and mergers and acquisitions. He brings to Voyageur the leadership and practical skills required to achieve significant growth in the oil and gas business.
 
Prior to founding Voyageur Oil and Gas, Mr. Stevenson was President and CEO of Bighorn Petroleum. Mr. Stevenson spent four years in The Hague and Amsterdam with Royal Dutch Shell PLC’s consultancy business, Shell Global Solutions. Serving as a business development director, he led a team in technology and commercial business development in support of Shell’s business pursuits in Europe, Middle East and Russia.
 
Mr. Stevenson attended Chemical Engineering at the University of British Columbia and over the past 15 years has held a variety of technical and commercial roles in the oil and gas industry including reservoir and process engineering, refinery operations and some entrepreneurial pursuits in technology transfer for fuel cells, software development and aviation. Mr. Stevenson brings a proven track record that combines expertise in oil and gas technology, corporate acquisitions and sustainable business development. He has worked for companies such as Syncrude Canada, Shell Canada and the University of British Columbia Industry Liaison Office.
 
Wayne Koshman, Director and Founder
 
Prior to founding Voyageur Oil and Gas Mr. Koshman was a director and the chief executive officer of Terrawest Energy Inc., a company engaged in mining and exploration in China, from June 2002 to August 2006. Mr. Koshman was the director of GIS Technologies, a company engaged in the development of smartcard technology, from November 2000 to March 2002. Mr. Koshman was a project consultant for Zaatec Technologies Inc., a Japanese hard disk technology firm, from March 1999 to April 2000. Mr. Koshman was the head of corporate development for international sales for Moduline Industries Ltd., a subsidiary of Champion Industries, a large home manufacturer, from March 1998 to June 1999. Mr. Koshman was the international sales manager for Asia for Nortec Design group from November 1996 to February 1998. Mr. Koshman is a founder of Skytech Bio Conversion Inc., a biotechnology company working with the National Research Council of Canada and the University of British Columbia on phase one trials of microbial technology for treating organic solids.  Mr Koshman is currently a director of Destiny Media Corporation. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary.
 
Dr. Michael Mumelter, Director and Founder
 
Dr. Mumelter has over 20 years experience in developing the Geosat exploration technology and developing exploration opportunities in North Africa and the Middle East. He is a director and founder of the Geosat Energy Group which is involved in oil and gas exploration in the Middle East and North Africa and North and South America.  He holds PhD in Mathematics and a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has extensive international business experience including serving 10 years as a managing director of an industrial conglomerate with operations in Buenos Aires and Hong Kong. Dr Mumelter was the original holder of the BEKS permit.
 
Richard Pollock, Director
 
Richard Pollock is a petroleum geologist who recently completed a 30 year career with Marathon Oil in 2003. He worked extensively overseas in various roles as international exploration manager, general manager for Marathon in Gabon and general manager of CLAM Petroleum B.V.  Has the practical working knowledge of Tunisia and North Africa in the growth from discovery to production.
 
Jay Park, LLB, Corporate Secretary
 
Jay Park is a Partner, and Chair of the Global Resources Practice Group with Macleod Dixon, where he has practiced oil and gas law since 1980. Based in Calgary, Jay leads a team of our international energy lawyers. Jay has represented oil and gas producers, consumers, marketers, pipeline companies and local distribution companies, governments, banks and investors. His practice has included oil & gas asset acquisitions and divestments, share acquisitions and divestments involving oil & gas companies, advising on production sharing agreements, concession agreements, product marketing, gas sales and purchase contracts, pipeline transportation matters, oil and gas pipeline asset dispositions, drafting legislation and regulations, oil and gas regulatory hearings, and joint venture and participation agreements.

Mehran Farmanara, CA, CS, Interim CFO
 
Mr. Farmanara provides a wide range of services to Voyageur Oil and Gas Corp. including taxation, consulting, and preparation of annual and quarterly financial statements for the company auditor.
 
He obtained his CA designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC in 1984 and his CS designation from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Canada in 1988. Previoulsy he received his CA designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Walesin 1980.
 
He has worked for several companies over the past 35 years including serving as a CEO and CFO of Chancellor Reinsurance Company of Canada, CFO of The Chancellor Group Ltd. and over 12 years with Coopers & Lybrand in both England and Vancouver.
